Kith & Kin Scottish Ancestry

About this Organisation

Kith & Kin Scottish Ancestry is an independent genealogy and local history business based in Harthill, North Lanarkshire, run by researcher and author Ian Quigley.

Its work connects Scottish family histories with the communities in which people lived, with a particular interest in the villages of Vatisker and Coll in the Back district of the Isle of Lewis.

Ian’s research brings together official records, published sources, photographs and descendants’ recollections. His book, Vatisker Diaries, was written in collaboration with Back Historical Society (Comann Eachdraidh Sgìre a’ Bhac).

Kith & Kin shares family and local history through publications, website articles and recorded talks, and welcomes enquiries about its village history research. Genealogy research services are provided remotely.
