On Friday 6th February 2026, the National Library of Scotland will be hosting Map Fest, a celebration of all things cartographic.
Drop by the Library’s Causewayside building, Edinburgh between 10.30am and 4pm to discover the amazing maps and aerial photographs held by:
• Edinburgh City Archives
• Historic Environment Scotland
• National Collection of Aerial Photography
• National Library of Scotland
• National Records of Scotland
• The University of Edinburgh
Chat with stall holders to learn more about the wonderful maps in their collections or book a place on one of the short talks or tours that will take place throughout the day.
This will be a hands-on event for everyone. You could get a temporary map tattoo, try map-based games and puzzles, view an historic panorama in 3D or chill with cartographic crafts. https://www.nls.uk/whats-on/map-festival/
