Scotland’s Architecture
About this Organisation
Scotland’s Architecture is an independent, free, non-commercial public-history project providing an accessible national guide to the buildings, structures, landscapes and designed places that shape Scotland. Its aim is to connect architecture with local history, geography, maps, archives, newspapers, historic books and the lived stories of communities, helping the public explore individual buildings in their local setting. The project is developing and source-led: it distinguishes evidence, interpretation and uncertainty; links to authoritative and specialist sources; dates changeable information; records image and map rights; and invites evidence-backed corrections. It complements rather than replaces statutory heritage records, archives, local-history organisations and existing heritage interpretation.
