Clan Donnachaidh Society

About this Organisation

The Clan Donnachaidh Museum was built in 1969 and was the first purpose-built Clan Museum and Centre in Scotland. Situated just off the A9 some 7 miles north of Pitlochry and alongside its newer neighbour the House of Bruar, it contains many interesting items of its Clan History. It is currently being upgraded as time and money permit, and has a Reading Room and Clan Library (temporary closed due to the upgrading) and houses an office for the (part-time) Clan Secretary.

The main names are Robertson, Duncan and Reid, but there are associated names such as MacRobert, Roy, Inches, Maclagan, McInroy, Collier, Donnachie, McRobbie, Start, Duncanson, MacConachie and others.

Admission is free. Part of the Museum building is being used on a short term lease to the House of Bruar, whose staff will help visitors in the absence of the Secretary, and telephone enquiries can be left on 014796 483770.
