Mull Historical & Archaeological Society

About this Organisation

MH&AS was constituted in 1959. It is a membership organisation and its aims are to:
a. To promote and develop an interest in Scottish history and traditions, with particular reference to the Island of Mull.
b. To arrange for speakers to address the Society from time to time on subjects of historical and archaeological interest.
c. To arrange excursions to places of interest both on the Island and elsewhere.
d. To maintain an interest in conserving all aspects of the history of the Island of Mull, both directly through members and indirectly by arranging for appropriate specialists to under-take work.
e. To co-ordinate work such as preparing leaflets on places and matters of interest to the Island of Mull, compiling and updating a bibliography in connection with the Island and any other work which may be suggested and agreed by the members.
f. To encourage the young people of Mull to take an active interest in the history of the Island.

Anyone who is interested in the objects of the society can join.
