North Kessock & District Local History Society

About this Organisation

We try to tell the story of our community through monthly meetings, exhibitions, booklets, our website and newsletter which is distributed to all of our members during the summer break.

Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month from September to May in the Outdoor Bowling Clubhouse, Ferry Brae, North Kessock IV1 3YH at 7.30pm usually followed by tea and a chat. We welcome any ideas for new topics and activities.

The Annual Membership fee is £5 with a meeting charge of £1 for members and £2 for visitors to help with venue and refreshment costs.

Our latest project has seen us produce an exhibition and book on Killearnan Memories which incorporates information from the local community including children from the school. The book is available for sale through our website.
We are also linked with the Highland Archaeology Festival and will be running an open meeting on the evening of 4th October entitled "The Power of Water", a rerun of Killearnan Memories Exhibition followed by a walk around Redcastle Estate on Monday 7th October exploring the remains of the water system. All information is on our website.
