The topical subject at January’s meeting is “Burns and Birds” by Chris Rollie. As well as being a Robert Burns devotee Chris is Regional Manager of RSPB.

The theme is Robert Burns the birdwatcher and ornithologist. It will look at the remarkable depth of his knowledge of bird plumage, song, behaviour, distribution, habitat and migration, together with how he wove birds so evocatively into his poems and songs. It also looks at his attitude towards birds as food and field sports
