Event Details

South Ayrshire Council in collaboration with Carnegie Library, Ayr, and Remembering the Accused Witches of Scotland proudly presents an exhibition about the accused witches of South Ayrshire, where we explore the history of the accused witches highlighting such figures as Agnes Campbell, Patrick Lowrie, and Rev William Adair. This exhibition also delves into the historical accuracy of local legends such as the Cutty Sark and Maggie Osbourne as well as examining the history of the witchcraft trials in Scotland during the 16th, 17th and 18th century and the witch panic that took place during the 173 years of burnings.
