Speaker: Dr Amy Blakeway, University of St Andrews
This public talk will be hosted online, via Zoom.

This talk takes us away from the romantic image of Mary, Queen of Scots, revealing instead how her governing regime used precedents set by her father, the canny and assertive James V, to govern Scotland. To do so, we will examine some treasures of the National Records of Scotland (NRS) including Parliamentary and Privy Council records, as well as a wide range of sources from Scottish and foreign archives.

Time will be given at the end for questions.
