Event Details

Join magician, psychologist and writer Professor Richard Wiseman in a fascinating local history talk exploring the surprising and little-known magical history of Edinburgh.

Around the turn of the twentieth century, three remarkable magicians conjured up mystery and mayhem in the area. One was the most famous illusionist in the world, another perfected a trick that revolutionised magic, and the third was frequently asked to appear in the Edinburgh Sheriff Court. Discover the strange but true tale of three intertwined lives and learn how to transform a tea towel into a chicken.
