Illustrated talk by Professor Faye Hammill. Canadian Pacific owned three ships named Empress of Britain. They were all built on the Clyde and travelled the Atlantic to Canada. The last ship was launched in 1955 and is a particular favourite of Faye's. You can see more about her research at www.oceanmodern.gla.ac.uk [1] Why not come along dressed the part for this talk? There will be prizes. Refreshments. Community bus available.
