Tongland Abbey Excavations
Open Day – 28th September, 11am – 4pm
An opportunity to discover what has been discovered at the dig this summer before they back-fill for the winter.
To date, substantial stone foundations have been found which may indicate the location of the west wall and south range of the abbey cloister. If this is confirmed, then the site of the abbey church may be presumed to lie in the present Tongland churchyard.
