Event Details

'Undiscovered Dunfermline' is a day-long conference to be held on Saturday 14 October 10 am-4 pm in Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries. Dunfermline Heritage Community Projects hosts a number of local and international speakers on topics including the hereditary role of High Chamberlain of Dunfernmline, held by the Tweeddale-Hay family; the important role played by Dunfernmline-born John Norton in the Peninsular War in Canada, where he led a Native American cohort for the British army; the Dunfermline photographer David Octavius Hill; the vastly enlarged archive now available in the new Library; two poetic Roberts of Dunfermline, plus other smaller presentations, and a buffet lunch.
