Event Details

From suffragettes to institutions for ‘wayward girls’, there is a story to tell of women’s history in Maryhill. Find out more in a Women of Maryhill Guided Walk as part of the West End Festival.

Maryhill Burgh Halls Trust are excited to take part in this year’s West End Festival in Glasgow. Discover the buildings and areas where local women made history in our new themed guided walk along the Maryhill Locks and Forth and Clyde Canal walkways.

Only two out of the 20 historic Stephen Adam stained glass windows, original to the Burgh Halls represent women from Maryhill's past. Yet artists, charity workers, suffragettes, 'wayward girls' and hardworking women played an important part in Maryhill's dyanmic history.

Find out more on Saturday 3rd June at 1pm.

The guided walks usually last up to an hour and a half.
