I do a one hour show called "An American Love Letter to Edinburgh" about Benjamin Franklin's little known trip to Edinburgh in 1759, seventeen years before America's Declaration of Independence. Lauded by many as the greatest natural philosopher since Sir Isaac Newton, he was friends with David Hume and Adam Smith, among other Enlightenment luminaries. I weave his story with my own, a native of Stone Mountain, Georgia, who was swallowed up by Edinburgh in the middle of the 1989 Fringe Festival and has yet to be spat out!
