Alford Heritage Museum

About this Organisation

The museum is housed within buildings which, from 1905 – 1986, were the local animal auction mart. They are now owned by Aberdeenshire Council and have been leased to Alford and Donside Heritage Association since 1991 for use as a museum and heritage centre. The collection includes farm implements and tractors, domestic items placed in room settings, workshops of local trades such as shoemaker, tailor, blacksmith and a schoolroom. The museum opened in March 1991 and is due to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2021. Run entirely by volunteers the museum is normally open between April and October but has not opened this year. We hope to reopen in April 2021.
