Glasgow & West of Scotland Family History Society
About this Organisation

Founded in 1977, the Society aims to promote the study of family history in Glasgow and the West of Scotland.
It has a Research Centre in Partick, Glasgow, which is open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 1pm – 4pm*. No booking required.
The Centre contains an extensive library of books, periodicals and journals from overseas societies, all relating to genealogy. There are a number of computers with their own family history software and other data, as well as access to subscription software from major commercial providers. The Society is a Family Search affiliate member, providing access to Family Search, including items not readily available from home.
Monthly talks are provided online via Zoom throughout the year, by speakers with expertise in various branches of family history or in local history.
Membership is worldwide and an award-winning Journal is issued 3 times per year.
