An Iodhlann - Tiree's Historical Centre
About this Organisation
The Isle of Tiree is the outermost of the Inner Hebrides off the west coast of Scotland. Since 1995, An Iodhlann has been collecting material with a Tiree connection – old letters, emigrant lists, maps, reports, artefacts, photographs, natural objects, family histories, interviews, films, stories and songs. We have a permanent public exhibition, and we create occasional mini-exhibitions on specific topics. Our genealogist provides a service to those wishing to research their Tiree connections. Members of An Iodhlann receive our newsletter and updates about our activities. We promote and preserve the Gaelic language. We carry out collaborative projects, and write and distribute historical and cultural publications.
