Thomas Muir 250: Walk and Talk

When & Where

This is a Scottish Local History Forum event.
Friday, 12 June 2015 - 10:00am to 3:30pm
St Andrews House, Regent Road, Edinburgh , EH1 3DG

Event Details

Bookings are now being taken for a "walk and talk" around the theme of Thomas Muir (to commemorate the 250th anniversary of his birth) and the Radicals organised by SLHF in conjunction with the Friends of Thomas Muir Society.

The talks (by Don Martin and Jimmy Watson) will be held in the Scottish government's St Andrews House and there will also be a private tour of this iconic and fascinating Art Deco building - not usually open to the public. After the lunchbreak, there will be an hour or so's gentle walking tour of places of relevance to Thomas Muir and the radical movement around the Old Town of Edinburgh.

Places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a "first come first served" basis so do please book early.

The price includes tea/ coffee on arrival but does not include lunch. There are ample good eateries in the immediate vicinity to suit all tastes and pockets. Attendees should be reasonably active and wear sensible footwear as the tour of the building and the walking tour involves steps (and cobbles!).
