Online Talk: 'Researching your Family History in Scotland'
When & Where
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, we have replaced our winter season of indoor meetings with online Zoom talks.
Our next talk takes place this Friday at 7.30pm when Helen Stewart will be talking about "Researching your Family History in Scotland".
Helen will show you how to use “Ancestry” and “ScotlandsPeople” to search births, marriages, deaths, censuses and other records, indicating the range of information that is available and what to expect when you start to search. She will touch on the rest of the UK and Ireland and take a brief look at the rest of the world as so many of us have ancestors who emigrated. Her talk will include some suggestions for searching newspapers, gravestones and other useful websites, such as searching armed forces’ websites, and she will give you some tips and advice.
Please note that you should check with the event organiser to confirm details of times and location - Scottish Local History Forum is not responsible for the events hosted by Member Societies.
