The Friends of the Argyll Papers are delighted to announce the next in our 2022/3 series of online seminars informed by research undertaken in the archive. This seminar will take place on Zoom on Fri 20 January @ 10:00 UK time.

The Young McLaurin’, the first of a three part reassessment of Dr Malcolm McLaurin (1765-1834), Chamberlain of Tiree from 1801 to 1811.

In this seminar, Donald Meek and Dr John Holliday will discuss ‘The Young McLaurin’: his background in Ardchattan; his training as a doctor; his role as physician to the Campbells of Barcaldine; and his move away from Ardchattan into factoring for Argyll Estates.

Seminars are free for members of the Friends. Non-members are welcome to attend and are invited to make a donation of £5 per seminar at https://friendsoftheargyllpapers.enthuse.com/#!/.
