Browse the wonderful ‘Then and Now’ images and historical maps and read our bite-size stories that tell the history of Edinburgh’s people, places and city life. Stories are diverse and include: a history of firefighting; a pictorial trail of Greyfriars Bobby; an overview of Edinburgh’s Orphan Hospitals and Schools; and the story of Bessie Watson, a nine year old Suffragette.
