Founded in 2006, Stirling Local History Society brings together people who share a passion for
Stirling’s fascinating history, its people, places and stories.

We host a fantastic programme of talks exploring all aspects of Stirling’s past, with something
for everyone. Our speakers include historians, academics, local experts and enthusiasts, all with
fascinating stories and fresh perspectives to share. We meet on the last Thursday of each month from September to April (except December), at the wonderful Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum on Dumbarton Road. Our meetings are
always friendly and welcoming, with plenty of opportunities to chat, meet new people and share
your love of local history.

Everyone is welcome! Membership is just £20 for the year, giving you free entry to all our regular talks, or you can simply come along as a visitor for £5 per meeting. All talks are free for students and under-18s. Whether you're a lifelong Stirling resident, new to the area or simply curious about the city's remarkable past, we'd love you to join us.
